We welcome all who value our JET practices to help us shape a more equitable future for our organization and those we serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">History<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In the 1960s, grassroots efforts by artists, civic leaders, and university art departments led to the establishment of the Corvallis Arts Council, the state\u2019s first arts council and the 27th in the United States.&nbsp;In 2008, we changed our name to The Arts Center to become inclusive of all people and groups seeking connection with the arts in the greater Corvallis area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/theartscenter.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Unfolding-of-an-Idea-A-Brief-History.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Unfolding of an Idea &#8211; A Brief History of The Corvallis Arts Center<\/a> as shared by founding member, Marion Gathercoal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Financial Transparency<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of our commitment to transparency and accountability, The Arts Center makes our IRS Form 990 filings available to the public.
